Emily Holm is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Registered Play Therapist, and Nationally Certified Counselor who specializes in the treatment of children, adolescents, and adults. She received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Exercise and Sport Sciences from Tulane University. She earned her master’s degree in Community Counseling with a specialization in Play Therapy from The University of Alabama. 


As a graduate research assistant, Emily became a published author on a study which examined children’s fears in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. She has contributed to other research studies and continuing education talks. Emily has also appeared on local podcasts discussing mental health issues. You can find those here.


Emily has provided therapy to severely emotionally disturbed and abused children and adolescents, adults, athletes, children on the Autism spectrum, veterans, members of the LGBTQ community and their families, and inmates in correctional facilities. Other areas of interest include anxiety disorders, Play Therapy, Sports Counseling, phase of life and coming of age issues, grief, and transitional issues such as starting high school, college, and adulthood. 


Emily is a member of the Association of Play Therapy and the Alabama Counseling Association. She prides herself on providing a safe place to work through issues and welcomes people from different backgrounds, ethnicities, and sexual identities.
